Can you believe it’s already the summer holidays again? Six weeks of sunshine (manifest it with us), snack requests every 15 minutes, and a lot of “Muuum, I’m bored!”—sound familiar?
At RELR, we’re right there with you. We're a brand run by women who know what it's like to juggle a million things at once. So this one’s for all the multitasking, on-the-go, stylish-as-ever mums who are just trying to keep the kids happy and maybe get a moment to drink a cup of tea while it’s still hot. 👏
We’ve rounded up our favourite budget-friendly summer activity ideas and some easy fashion wins to help you feel put together without the faff.
✨ STYLE IDEAS FOR BUSY MUMS
Because just feeling like yourself makes such a difference.
1. The Throw-On Co-Ord
Our go-to RELR piece this season? A light, breathable, throw-on co-ord that works just as well for a picnic in the park as it does for a quick dash to the shop (or even a garden wine to make the play date a little more fun!) It’s comfy, effortless, and doesn’t cling in weird places when the weather heats up. Made to make you feel good as always.
Style tip: Pair our Chloe Shirt and Liv Trousers with trainers or sandals, a big tote (full of snacks, of course), and the essential Mum Bin - easy and chic.
2. The Bloat Friendly Short
A RELR fave—our floaty, adjustable waist Lucy Shorts are a summer lifesaver. Use them as a beach cover-up, style it with your favourite bodysuits for those family day's out, or chuck them on for a garden water fight! You're not a regular Mom, you're a cool Mom. Perfect to avoid the dreaded chafe, easy to dress up and down and give that "put together" feeling whilst always serving ultimate comfort.
🌞 ACTIVITY IDEAS ON A BUDGET
Because keeping little ones entertained doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
1. Nature Treasure Hunt
Print or draw a checklist of things to find (a feather, a yellow flower, a funny-shaped rock), head to the park or woods, and let the kids run wild. Bonus: it tires them out for bedtime. 😉
2. DIY Garden Festival
Got a bit of garden, balcony, or local green space? Pop up a tent or a few fairy lights, throw down some blankets, and create your own family “festival”. Add bubbles, face paint, a mini playlist, and some snacks—and boom, memories made.
3. Home Cinema Day
Rainy day? No problem. Shut the curtains, make some popcorn, let the kids pick the film (brace yourself), and have a movie day. To make it feel special, get everyone to make "tickets" and build a den to sit in.
4. Library + Cafe Combo
Local libraries are underrated. Loads of them do free holiday activities, and after some reading time you can pop to a nearby cafe for a babyccino and a coffee for you. Win-win.
5. Make Your Own Pizza Night
Busy but brilliant. Buy ready-made bases or pitta bread, lay out toppings, and let the kids “cook” their own tea. Less mess than you’d think (ok, some mess), and they actually eat it.
YOU’VE GOT THIS, MAMA 💛
Summer holidays don’t need to be Insta-perfect or packed with pricey outings. Kids remember the fun, the attention, the laughter (and maybe the odd ice cream). You don’t have to do it all—just enough. And if you can do it feeling a little more you, in pieces that make you feel confident and comfy, even better.
From all of us at RELR, here’s to your kind of summer.
With love,
